Overview:
A wireless company executive once asked Vic Mitchell for a copy of his resume. Mitchell was flattered, but there was one problem: he doesn’t have a resume. Mitchell is 43 years old and has never worked for anyone.

Since he was 21 years old, Mitchell has been self-employed, launching one successful business venture after another. By 1991, he was operating a full-service business, Advantage Cellular, and over the proceeding years won numerous awards for both growth and innovation. After the company was successfully sold to Verizon Wireless in 1995 (formerly AirTouch Cellular), AT&T Wireless began courting Mitchell to move to the Colorado market to replicate his success. Mitchell moved to Denver in January 1996 and began what has become one of the largest and most successful wireless distributors in the United States. Mitchell’s concept was to assist “mom and pop” retailers by aggregating their selling power to procure favorable fees and rights from the national service providers. After years of dramatic growth and profitability, including several diverse acquisitions, the Advantage companies were successfully acquired by a group of private investors in early 2004. At the time of the acquisition, thousands of retailers sold under the Advantage Wireless umbrella including 114 Advantage Wireless branded locations. In addition, Advantage Wireless’ employees profited millions through an Employee Stock Ownership Program Mitchell had implemented. The firm today is a nationwide wireless distributor with revenues in excess of $200M.

In late 2003, Mitchell acquired a wireless data service provider which was then on the verge of its third bankruptcy within 6 years. After acquiring the company—Ricochet Networks, Inc. — Mitchell streamlined the company’s financials, and repositioned it to suit Homeland Security applications rather than consumers. Four months after Mitchell acquired Ricochet, the company turned its first profit since its inception in 1997. It was successfully acquired by Terabeam, a nationwide publicly traded wireless infrastructure company, in June of 2004.

In January of 2008, Mitchell took over as CEO for a venture and private capital funded residential online brokerage, named ReLogic.com. Many experts believe the residential real estate industry is one of the most dysfunctional industries in America. ReLogic has designed a highly efficient and customer friendly business which has the capacity to transform the industry as the nation’s first commission-free, full service brokerage saving consumers about 70% compared to the industry standard 6-7% commission rates. ReLogic has developed a highly interactive, user friendly website (www.Relogic.com) which provides properties searches, valuations, and industry video news in conjunction with teams of licensed and salaried Realtors who assist their clients with all facets of a real estate transaction.

Mitchell and his respective companies have consistently received recognition from both within and outside of the wireless industry. In 2000, Advantage Wireless, Inc. was named the prestigious “Colorado Small Business of the Year” by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. The Denver Business Journal also named Mitchell in the “top 40 under 40” for business executives of Colorado and Mitchell was a finalist in Ernst and Young’s nationally recognized “Entrepreneur of the Year” contest. Mitchell has also been featured on CNN and in Entrepreneur magazine.

Mitchell, a married man with three children, resides in Castle Rock, Colorado. Both Mitchell and his wife Amy are active in community service. Mitchell is currently a director on San Diego State University’s Business College and Entrepreneurial Management Committees. Mitchell also is involved with Angel Investing and is a member of Tech Coast Angels and Keiretsu Forum. Vic and Amy are involved with Project Lifesaver, a non-profit that provides tracking devices for Alzheimer’s patients and autistic children that have a propensity for wandering. Vic is also a Rotarian and a former member of Kiwanis.
